For the otherwise sane folks on Twitter insisting that democracy isn't "on the ballot," I don't know what to tell them.

Chipping away at voting rights

Declaring all kinds of non-white non-straight non-Christian people out of bounds

Unwillingness to abide by democratic elections

Enabling--even encouraging violence.

The signs are all there.
Screaming sirens, not dog whistles.

@jessicawranosky @jbf1755 Talking with family about the #Colorado senate race is such a mindkerfuffle. They commiserate about how absurd people are acting and wearing extremist right wing values on their sleeve.

The moment they discuss actually VOTING about any of it, they're '1993 Phil Collins' about it.
