@mollyjongfast I am reminded of the early 90s and Borland CEO Philippe Kahn decided to do a RIF without talking to his managers, only focused on reducing payroll and let his best engineers go. He didn’t consider that most of them had high salaries to fend off Microsoft poaching, his mangers got him to reverse course, but it was too late, most had all accepted Seattle offers. Smart and having common sense are not necessarily compatible, suspect LinkedIn and Mastodon will benefit.
