Not being able to build up a list by profile hopping is frustrating. Is this a server config they've switched off, or just how #mastodon is built?

@danjhugo Visit the profile via their domain/instance. Then you can see all their followers and who they are following.

If you click on "Following" or "Followers", there will appear a link. see image.

But remember that people and instances can still choose whether or not they want to share their followers and who they are following. You can too, via preferences.

It seems like it isn't implemented yet. A technical limitation.

@Saphkey I guess the bit that threw me is the app not showing this (and assuming it was due to privacy settings or timeouts)... then this appears in web view and it becomes clear. Even following the link, you still need to copy/paste used ids to add, since you're suddenly on another host. It's just a small impedance mismatch, but fixing it would be awesome for noobs like me. 🙂
@danjhugo Yeah, unfortunately all the apps are made by different people and don't match the web-browser view.
I assumed you were on web-browser because the original post said you posted via web-browser
