But I didn't mean to say I *never* use top, htop, gotop, bashtop, etc. I use htop a lot.
It's just when I'm looking at specifically RAM usage, I like tallying up the child processes of things like firefox and evolution.

htop is still really good for its groovy little braille-based charts and CPU usage indicators. Also, its CPU, RAM, and IO "pressure" meters are SUPER important to me on boxes where lots of i/o inexplicably sends my system load sky high and makes the machine unresponsive.
