Aye to that. Mastodon is easier to use mainly because it is easier to understand.
The sign-up process is the same as for twitter. Except it's not as complicated as twitter. On mastodon it's e-mail + password.
On twitter it's 2 captchas, then you gotta find the button to use e-mail, only sometimes you can't use e-mail and nobody knows why only some times you can sign up with e-mail and other times you can't. So u sometimes gotta use sms instead
