Testing to determine if Mastodon strips exif metadata from images.

This image has all metadata including GPS coordinates embedded. Will download from this post and re-check.

Great news -- it absolutely does. Went from a ton of metadata down to this
@eric_capuano I was actually just looking at this yesterday. I posted an image taken from my phone then quickly deleted it because I had a little panic when I realized I took EXIF-stripping for granted. Glad Mastodon handles it!
@eric_capuano Ty for doing this, was curious too!

@eric_capuano Great!

Ill just include my coords in my posts instead

@eric_capuano I've seen three separate posts testing/pondering this same concern, and I'm so glad to meet all these paranoid like-minded nerds.
@eric_capuano what client(s) did you check?

@eric_capuano

Try Aper'Solve: https://www.aperisolve.com

It will run an image against zsteg, steghide, outguess, exiftool, binwalk, foremost, strings and pngcheck all at once in one go.

@eric_capuano was thinking about that myself. Thanks for confirming.👍
@eric_capuano .. i am full of PASTA (not the treat model) @timelessp did it strip? TOOT is unclear... HALP0
