@Knittingdancer 66 dg/mm about average I think, for my Shetlands at least (I fibre test). He's got a great staple length which I'm hoping he'll contribute to my flock.
@nyzn he is beautiful! I like knitting Shetland (two projects on the go right now!) but am not always very effective at spinning it due to staple length.
@Knittingdancer do you find the staple length short? It can be a bit of a tradeoff between micron fineness and staple length, and some breeders arguably have let the staple get a bit short in pursuit of fineness.
@nyzn I'm just better at prepping and spinning longer wools. Which is a pity as I do love hardy little primitive breeds!
@Knittingdancer the Shetlands on Shetland have much longer wool, we need to get back to that on the mainland. Glenfiddach is helping ;)
