@Shrigglepuss i've seen some posts like this, about how the #twitegration is unlike real people becoming refugees, and while i absolutely 100% agree, i do think that the process that the internet has gone through is similar in some aspects to the process colonized people or lands go through. and that it's a helpful thinking framework for thinking critically about the net and the netizens. @web0 #web0

Booo calm down. No one calling themselves a "refugee" from reddit is comparing themselves to a refugee from an oppressive/dangerous country. No one who is concerned with the plight of the latter group is confused by the use of the term.

What term would you suggest that a purposefully tortured misinterpretation couldn't poison?
