elon musk did so much for humanity, we can never forget him for:

  • buying tesla
  • buying paypal
  • buying twitter
  • privatizing nasa
  • littering the night sky with shiny satellites
  • inventing trains but they kill you instantly
  • inventing tunnels but they kill you and only let you use 1 type of car

@charlotte @hllizi also like, I don't mind admitting those 3k were significant in providing critical access
but that still doesn't make Musk a hero for giving up on several millions in profit for his multi-billion dollar company. heck, I donated a larger portion of my net worth to Ukraine, and that's just one of his company, it's literally the bare minimum.

and that's before we discuss SpaceX's role in defunding NASA which could have provided a public alternative.

Not trying to paint this as a heroic deed, but it's still good he did it, that's all I'm claiming. Don't know anything about the NASA-defunding though, that sounds interesting, but not in a good way.
