#TodayILearned that the guy who designed the very first #StarWars #actionfigures from 1977, #JimSwearingen, also was the guy at #Kenner who came up with the see-through "bionic eye" for the #SixMillionDollarMan doll.
According to this month's Star Wars Insider, Swearingen was brought in to head a new team looking specifically for licensing opportunities. He read the Star Wars script and told his boss, "Shut your office door for a couple hours and read this. There's a toy on every page."
