I'm trying to figure out if this is a faulty/failing button, or a debounce issue...

If its failing, it should be repaired (phone is in great condition, just a few months old), but the first time it went back, nothing was done!

OnePlus 10 Pro Power Button

The "repair" notes say that it had the firmware updated, and was "screened", all tests passed...

But they clearly missed my note, and didn't actually check/test the faulty power button.

I tried to be helpful and identify the issue clearly, but alas. 🤦‍♀️

I had reasonably prompt responses from the support staff... until I shared this video with them.

For reference, my OnePlus 5 power button failed after nearly 5 years, when I dropped it button-first on a hard edge, which literally shattered the button. A simple repair.

However:

A) I've not dropped this phone
B) there aren't spares for the OnePlus 10 Pro yet
C) there's no WAY I'd pull a new-ish / expensive phone apart when its still in warranty

It's possible this could be a pure software fix, though I wouldn't expect it due to the presumably rigorous QA process the product has been through... debounce should *not* be the issue.
The button being "pressed" multiple times, more quickly than humanly possible? Yeah... that could be considered a software bug I guess, but where do you draw the lines - it's a tough one.
