In case you missed it, the PixelFed official app for iPhone is out now in public beta testing.

You can find more info by joining TestFlight and then going to this link:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/5HpHJD5l

If you're not on TestFlight, the same link will give you instructions on how to join.

You can report problems with the app to its Github page's Issues section at https://github.com/pixelfed/mobile-app/issues

 The official PixelFed Android app isn't out yet, but there is a third party PixelFed app called @PixelDroid which you can download from @fdroidorg.

Available on iOS

@feditips @PixelDroid @fdroidorg Also if you are running a solo instance of Pixelfed (or any other instance aside from the main @pixelfed one), make sure you are running version 0.11.4 (the latest version), otherwise you can not use the beta app.

On iOS you can either use the main Mastodon app or SocialHub to connect to your Pixelfed instance if you have not updated to the latest Pixelfed software on your server. But update ASAP!

@darnell

Yes, good point! It only works on servers running the latest version of PixelFed! πŸ‘

@feditips

If your browser can build web apps, it's a nice way to get a standalone Pixelfed app. I made one with Vivaldi and I love it.

Available for pixelfed.uno?
He tells me no.

@stranobiovolta @PixelDroid @fdroidorg

Pixelfed.uno is on 0.11.3, it needs to update its software to 0.11.4 so it can use the beta app.

@feditips @PixelDroid @fdroidorg

I don't understand and don't know what I need to update (I use iOS 16.0.2) but it doesn't matter I'll wait for better times. Thank you πŸ™

@stranobiovolta @fdroidorg

The owner of pixelfed.uno has to update the server's version of PixelFed so that it is compatible with the app.

Users don't need to do anything, it's just the server owners who need to update stuff.

@feditips @PixelDroid @fdroidorg no iPad compactibility is sad, gonna use like iPhone app
