My fiancée and I had a cat that we loved so much. We spoiled him, and in return he was extremely loving. After a few years he had a granddaughter who we decided to adopt as we were ready for a second cat.
Well, it was a great idea, he was obsessed with her, followed her everywhere watching here. It was normal to see them cuddling on the couch.
Well one day there was a bit of a fight between the two my fiancée was caught in the middle so I grabbed the older cat to keep her safe.
🧵
When I grabbed him to put him in an empty room he fought back, scratched me up really bad, but deep into my wrist. My fiancée and I were both pretty beat up. Luckily, my friend is a doctor and he came over; coincidentally he is also the one we got both cats from. He dressed our wounds and we got our shots and we healed. A few days, unprovoked, he jumped up from the ground and attacked my fiancée. My friend came over and took the cat to give us some time to recover before bringing him back.
A few weeks later he brought the cat back, he was sweet with us, but in the third day the cat was trying to eat a plant that is toxic to him. My fiancée moved the plant away from him and he attacked her again. The cat went back to our friend and we have been catless ever since. The cat did attack our friend the same day, but it was a one time thing so far. The granddaughter cat was given to another friend after the first attack. We miss having a cat, but are both a bit afraid to get a new one.

First thing that came to mind was rabies driving the cat bonkers... But you did get an expert to check it. 🤷‍♀️

I love #dogs and #cats but I'd never put up with one that would hurt me or any human I'm with. Accidentally? Just once? Fine. Grumpy and territorial? Uh, no. I'll be the alpha and there's no negotiating that. They'll learn their place with me or find another human to live with. They're not babies.

Which is why owning one is tricky for me. 😕 #IWantADog
