If votes didn't count in local elections, then why would fascists prepare to bully the electorate with the blessing of elected local law enforcement and elected local election officials?

This is the last stand of one of the boxes of democracy: the ballot box. With the soap box and jury box, the ballot box keeps a civil society from reaching for the ammo box to defend the constitution as it is--not as the fascists want it to be.
