My favorite trope is when the bad guys find someone completely harmless and innocent and they all go "okay let's protect this cinnamon bun" and you've got like a room full of hardened criminals and a little orphan girl who is just happy she has friends now and everyone ends up redeeming themselves

Bonus when they're not even protecting the innocent from other bad guys and it's just a bunch of thugs helping the morality pet get through mundane life

Obviously I'm putting this in my book. Her name is Enkiya and she lives with demons because they think she's pretty swell and everyone else hates her for something she didn't do

(she's trans and her parents basically got her shunned by her entire race so everyone assumes she's some kind of psychopathic murderer who must never be named)

@minervissa didn't she used to be a psychopathic murderer in a past life
@victoria yeah but that's not her fault!

@victoria

It could be argued that nothing any of my characters do is their fault, since I'm the one that makes them do it...

@minervissa you have control over it all???

@victoria if they do something I don't like, I can just not write that

but I don't, because I am a cruel god and I see ALLLLLLL

@minervissa so that's what all the rewrites are for... character police....

@victoria if they kiss too soon? rewrite

too late? rewrite

wrong people? rewrite!

one of them dies?! REWRITE!

SOMEONE TELLS MAYA THAT HER DAD REINCARNATED AS A TWINK WITH A MAID FETISH AGAIN?!?! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, REWRITE!!!!!!

@minervissa the maid fetish, like the demiurge, is unstoppable
