@gabriel I wonder if baby boomers have more wealth because of their timing in relation to the computer revolution (for lack of a better term).

If they got their careers in order by the mid-80s and started really saving for retirement then, wouldn’t their savings have absolutely exploded because of tech stocks and the growth of profitability of manufactured goods because of outsourcing to China?

Imagine the events of Updike's "Rabbit, Run" today: he left a woman with two kids, and not like he left them without a cent, found another woman, moved in with her, bought another car… If that happened today, everyone in this novel would be eating worms or dealing drugs to survive 😅
