Debian Finally Starts a General Resolution to Consider a Non-Free Firmware Image

Debian's finally considering the inclusion of non-free firmware with a general resolution. So, what's it going to be?

It's FOSS News

@itsfoss
Not unless it gives some kind of warning.

Or possibly a "second boot" fallback mode.

But I prefer the regular repos to not have any non-free stuff.

@itsfoss I was interested in your article, but I became more interested in blocking your cookie consent overlay.

@tagomago The cookie consent overlay was fixed as far as I'm aware.

Was anything weird about it? Kindly let us know here.

@itsfoss Main problem is that it occupies 60% of the viewport (60vh), and it's somehow designed to avoid uBlock Origin. Only manually adding a "display:none" works. That's a PITA.
@tagomago We reported this to the cookie plugin devs earlier for a fix, we will look into it again. Thanks for the heads up.
@itsfoss I think that it should be displayed alongside the official releases as an option
