The Ghost of Émilie@frankie There's an entire culture surrounding customizing cars like that. Everything from the engine, to the suspension, to the bumpers, to the decals are all custom, usually done in a body shop. They're very expensive.
@frankie There can be music there, and lowriders will often try to "bounce with the beat." That's why they do that jumping thing.
@frankie It can be bad for the car, though, if the bumper crashes down on the ground, so you have to be careful.
I can't believe how immoral that is. These BMW owners *buy* these cars (the cars are theirs, they own them), and then greedy BMW finds a way to siphon off even more money from them, and since it's a subscription service, they'll never stop paying for it.
What's worse is that they're not actually getting anything for paying that $18 a month. *BMW* is taking something away, then charging for it.
Before we had these "internet of things" devices / products (#IOT), it would've been impossible to do what they're doing. But because corporations are so greedy, they abuse the power the internet gives them. They use it to take people's money.
If you're going to take my money, corporations, you at least have to give me something for it. You can't charge me for things I already own... Even so, that's what they're doing. 🤦♀️

When I said simple things that make you happy, I was thinking about things like listening to your favourite song, going for a walk, learning about something that interests you, spending time with your loved ones, etc. And I think they're meaningful too :)
And on the other hand, everything you do doesn't have to have a meaning, sometimes you do things just for the sake of doing it, and it makes you happy.
How we feel is internal, and everything outside of us is external... We can never predict how we'll feel internally, so we have to focus on what's external, since that's consistent.

My point is, emotions are temporary, the same way hot sauce burning your tongue is temporary, or the same way stubbing your toe hurts... or how you feel itchy until you scratch whatever it is. Emotions are an impulse, and they don't last.

I'm at my stepfather's family reunion right now... but it's hot and loud, so I went outside to sit in the shade.
I wish I was more comfortable in social situations, but the volume and everything really hurts my ears.

@Gargron Hi Gargron, why does "mentioning" someone require you to type their username? In large group conversations, the mentions can take up so much space in the post, so I wondered if there was a reason for it.
