has anyone made a map of their own land for gardening/etc. purposes? are there nicer tools than screenshotting google maps and tracing/drawing on top
@maya i know its tedious but for an event we did when i was working at school, i printed out a screenshot of google maps and then first drew with a sharpie all the details satellite didnt capture onto that, then used a lightbox (or a window) to trace everything i wanted/had added onto a blank sheet, and then i went back in after that to add any extras. we had the same issue with tree cover and such. depending on the area it might not be worth it but its an option
@myacg definitely worth it! I think i'll basically be doing this digitally so I can then later do nonsense layers nondestructively (e.g. I am Real Slow at tree identification, so it'd be nice to map out which species big ones are)
