Hi!

I do digital art. I'd like to use this site to journal the thoughts that go into making my drawings.

I don't pretend to teach anyone what they should or shouldn't do, I just want to reach out and starting more conversations about visual art. At the very least, I hope you'll find it interesting, I'll do my best to keep things concise and to put thought into what I say.

About me: I like trees, I like prog rock and I'd like for my drawings to actually turn out how I envision them.

Oh boy, made my first grammar error already, remember to always read thrice >:(
@SpaceAgeWrangler Hi! Love the pinball machine and the way you represented the shadows in the first picture.
@rhumxstamp Thanks! Ffor both of those my main idea was to focus on the texturing, to differentiate each material. The first one is referenced from a picture I took, so that definitely helped with the shading.
@SpaceAgeWrangler Especially like that amazing pinball/capsule toy machine. Great colors.
@avy Thanks! For that one I was trying out a reduced color gamut method that James Gurney talked about. He explained it in relation to mixing pigments in traditional painting, so I ended up mixing colors in Krita to try and emulate the method digitally :D
@SpaceAgeWrangler Yes! I did some of Gurney's 3-color diamond swatches, and it's easier for me to have better color harmony when I mix fewer colors.
@avy @SpaceAgeWrangler Don't mind me over here just taking notes <3

@SpaceAgeWrangler
These pieces are so beautiful

What music has been inspiring you lately?

What do you think of the creative concept of inspiration? Do you actively feed your ether with emotional and interesting art?

@thefunnychannel
Thanks! Lately I've gotten into Mal Waldron, and some newer prog metal bands (Intronaut, Haken), but I don't normally use music for inspiration, unless a song gives me a specific idea for a scene.

The main reason I look at art is because I enjoy it (although it can also help with finding new techniques or solving specific problems).

The main way that art (not only visual) inspires me is in my ultimate and long term goals, to try and improve, to make something new and special.

@SpaceAgeWrangler
Amazing bands, I cherish them as well!
I totally feel that,
Life feeds into art
And then art into life
Embracing both is the true energy we nurture when we create :)
