Alright I've been sitting on a domain name for two years or more for a project I want to start but haven't started.

I'm going to discuss the idea behind the project, and it's current status, and what it would need to come to fruition, and see if there's anyone in the fediverse that would like to help me see this through.

I suspect I will nerdsnipe sundog with it, but we'll see.

@ajroach42 I love the concept and utility of the wish and bubbletea libraries (https://charm.sh/libs/), and have been trying to think of a fun use case for them. Very much not just "glue", I admit.
Charm

We make the command line glamorous

Charm

@tardisx ditto.

I have an idea for a project using those libs too...

I've written about it here before under the tag #dreadfulDocs

I think it would be super fun to present the dreadful docs as a gemini first reading experience, with a charm.sh based ssh viewer and editor.

@ajroach42 well I've been looking for an excuse to play with these things .... happy to collab

Alright. #dreadfulDocs High level overview: It's a collection of documents from a victorian era attempt to catalog the occult (the "dreadfuls") presented as an Archive in process. I've been trying to think of a way to organize something like The Dreadful Docs in a way that would differentiate it from something like SCP, etc. I don't want a wiki. I don't want it to be editable on the web. I want it to be smaller and weirder than that.

R E T R O S O C I A L

@tardisx I'm an SRE and sysadmin by trade. I'm not much of a developer, but I can do it in a pinch, with the right motivation.

I'm more interested in writing for it, and using it, and building a weird ARG around it than I am, in writing the software, you know?

I'll run it, I'll maintain it, I'll modify it. I'll write content, and I'll promote it, you know? But writing software just stresses me out.

@ajroach42 I get you. Dev *is* my day job, but doing it for fun, with the tools I want to use on the projects I care about offsets the boring day job mundanity. Of course finding tuits is always a problem. Gluing together TUI+ssh and gemini and the web sounds pretty awesome though....
@tardisx I think it could be fun, yeah. If it's something you're up to tackle, I can contribute, test, and host.
@ajroach42 cool, well let me see if I can round up some tuits and put some simple POC together. Coincidently my charm.sh stickers just arrived.
