“Her environment was frightening. The walls were gray to greenish, their surfaces uneven and covered with shapeless tiles. The ceiling of the room gave off warm, soft light like a single luminous surface. Lara felt dizzy the longer she looked up. Her hands groped for the wall. Only briefly did she touch its strange surface and immediately flinched; for the wall had body temperature…

for @Ladee :)

…Lara stumbled in a circle. She was in the middle of a square room. There were no windows. 'And no doors', she whispered, 'Where are the DOORS?!' Her words ended in a squeak. Her voice sounded rough, as if she hadn't spoken in ages. Her tongue felt numb...

…Next to her was a piece of furniture. It was a long, angular dresser whose back touched the wall. It, too, had no doors. It was as smooth as dark glass. Lara's figure was reflected on the surface: disheveled hair and a disturbed face.”
- [#LaraHollis]'s arrival on the ship.

the [#ZhorKhat], [#Zhaikes]’s species, have mastered genetic engineering. so, they can “grow” their environment…

…but they also build clean, angular structures, which makes the ship a strange combination of organic and synthetic parts. they even grow their cloths and their “machines”. thus, the words “organic” and “synthetic” have long since lost their distinct meanings.

PS.: the doors aren’t visible, because human eyes can’t differentiate enough shades of green to see them~

@Ladee
hi Ladee!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
the first 3 parts were translations of "Fremdling" (means something like "Strangeling" in English) - it's the main story of my world :) as you've asked about the interior of the ship, I thought it could be nice to directly share Lara's experience when she first arrives there (as she is human and doesn't know anything about aliens at that point). so, I simply picked some text snippets from that chapter and threw them together 😅

@Ladee
quite recently, I talked about [Hybrids] (#HybridKrim). creating them can be a very artistic process. programming their behavior even more. their beauty lies in their functions, their movements, their usefulness, their efficiency. their ability to be as close to a living thing as possible.

so, if you asked a [#ZhorKhat] to describe an artist, they would probably end up describing scientist instead..
