Why would you need a police officer? That’s the kind of authority I’m talking about.

I’m more speaking to the structure that is the state. Police. Soldiers. Violence. None of it is necessary, and we can live without those things here in the US.
@DarthMassey considering what I've heatd about your cops (with ours in germany hust being marginally less bad) it's not even "we can live without them" and more "we can't live WITH them"
Soldiers are a kind of a mixes bag in a very general sense because sometimes a country can't really choose not to be at war 😬
Although I don't think there has been a "good" deployment on foreign soil lately ... or any time .
