I wanna learn new languages such as Spanish and Japanese (+ improve my English and Italian bc I lost a lot of vocabulary, especially in Italian) but can't pick one so I just don't do anything, unfortunately.

I'd like to learn how to code as well but my laptop's almost impossible to use anymore so idk what to do or where to start.

What do y'all think?

Feel free to respond with tips, useful apps, websites or resources. Thanks!

@testoceratops I like duolingo even though it has ads now and isn't as good as it used to be, but it's still fun and pretty good to start a language and get a feeling for it :) for English there's the BBC language course which is supposed to be good. also for your laptop, may I ask why it is unusable? Is it very slow?

@lucik I've used it a while ago but I don't know which language I shall start with, I can't decide and it's blocking me. I'll give it a try again, just gotta figure out the language I wanna begin with.

My laptop's really slow, I've been looking for malwares and stuff many times already but it doesn't seem to make it a lot better. Just opening Minecraft takes up to ten minutes. Same for my files some days. It's about 7yo now btw

@testoceratops I feel this so much, I recently tried to do a survey on here and let it decide for me when I couldn't decide on which task to start, and it actually worked because it gave me some accountability 😂 let me know if you decide to use duolingo again and want to follow me there 😊
@lucik I'll let you know! Haha yeah it's so hard to initiate it when there's a basic choice facing me 😭 I think I shall get back to Italian as I was almost fluent and can't speak it anymore (but I can understand, mostly)
@testoceratops if you're using Windows and if you're comfortable with linux, it might be a possibility to run a lightweight Linux instead and it might help :) you can usually try them out before installing if you make a bootable USB, I can find some tutorials if you want me to :)

@lucik I'm using Windows but can't update it anymore bc my computer's too old and I thought about moving to linux, but I know nothing about it or programming and coding (except some basic HTML5 and CSS3).

That'd be nice, thank you! :) I'm so worried of losing or deleting important files if I do it like that!

@testoceratops Sure, I'll try to find something to recommend to you! If I don't send you a message in the next few days please ask me :) I can also recommend itopie.ch for this as you're French speaking, they're very nice and helpful and even though probably too far away for you they might be able to give advice on the phone/email or have helpful links?
@lucik Thank you for the recommendations!
