prini did a much better job (i think? i’m not sure, i just watched a lot of youtube videos to learn) of pruning the pear trees we have that espalier and they responded by growing a totally huge amount of little bebe pears(?)

LJ@prin so cool! Our pear trees haven't done much - they're young - we got 3 pears last year.
@lj yahhh last year the asian pear tree grew a few and this one grew like... one 
... but i didn't really trim it back either then, and this year i did a big big cutting back in the winter. hoping it makes lots of goos pears - my partner makes a solid pear-ginger jam ^__^

@prin yum! We also have peach trees & I make bourbon peach butter every year.
@lj oooo yums! no peaches here but we do have a plum. it’s showing signs of over-watering this year i think, and really not much to be done about that… it did not really make many plums last year bc it also needed to be cut back, not sure what will happen this year what with cold wet spring, but maybe it’ll catch up? it’s very slow to leaf this year, altho it was last year too
