Thanks for being welcoming, Mastodon! I've been here for ~a month now, and enjoy it! But I have friends at the bird site who'd enjoy another instance than mine better, so I'd like to give them a list. Are there any instances who follow the core values of mastodon art,are open for new members and are comfortable having their description in a bird thread? I'll give you a list on the "themes" of my followers in the toot below.

While there are overlaps I have followers who are
-academics, especially into Vikings, history and religion
-indigenous
-queer
-disabled
-autistics and ADHD
-authors, especially into romance and/or fantasy
-comic artists
-Scandinavian
-sex workers and sex workers' unions
-museums
-geeks and nerds
-OFMD, Star Trek, and Star Wars

The common denominators seem to be queer, BLM, and a tendency for sh*t posting about Antiquity and Vikings

@MarthaCrimson the instance list of mastodon is simply huge. Did you know that you can find instances with this tool? Sure, you won't find ALL of them, but it doesn't hurt to try.

@MarthaCrimson The authors and comic artists are very welcome on .art , and it doesn't matter if they're also going to be posting about their other interests there. There's scholar.social, @spicytamazon did you start a Star Trek instance? Or are on one? Queer.garden is lovely but not sure if they're open - @moiety

I did not, but there *is* a Star Trek instance over at https://tenforward.social and several of my Trekkie friends from birdsite moved there!

@MarthaCrimson There are a fair few historians on scholar.social, including some PoC that I follow ^.^ @CaribenxMarciaX can probably comment more on what the instance is like :D
