It’s my main gripe with using iOS.
@Ombra @Gargron progressive web app ( WPA ) is basically the frontend you get while logging in from a smartphone browser. Here's a screenshot. It is web based so yeah it should work in any smartphone with a decent browser

I use PWAs on MacOS.

You can install them with all browsers except Safari.

But on iOS you can install them only with Safari:
