Lauren Black

How’s everyone’s day so far? I wrote morning pages, paid some bills and watched the end of “The Ultimatum” on Netflix and now I’m at a loss for what to do next.

(Writing. I know the answer should be writing but I’m between projects and not sure what to work on.)

@Heurism My personal take is that who aren’t sure they want to get married should not get married. Especially people in their twenties. I though that going into the show and I feel it even more strongly now. The ending was… 😬.

@lblack managed to finish a script outline last night, now I have to go to work and try not to think about writing until work is over. Not saying I'll be writing after work, just thinking about writing. Which is like... pre-writing?

@lblack well so far I walked the dog, fed all the pets, fed my son, made coffee, and reviewed and gave notes on an awards case study video. all the day’s meetings about to begin… tonight will continue working on my Sundance submission responses. I can’t really write during the day so it will have to be later.

@itsfullofstars I usually do my best work after the kids go to bed. Days depend on how busy the day job is. Monday I was slammed. Yesterday not so much.

@RachelSL @lblack what i find …fascinating? dismaying?… is how many of us have day jobs but are clearly also pro level writers.

@lblack I should be reading right now but taking a little break to play a game. Will read after dinner.

Plus I gotta work on a historical fiction short and figure out what I'm actually going to write about.

And if I can, I think I'll rewrite my Lego Movie meets Last Action Hero comedy that's about fictional characters in an imaginary town for unprpduced screenplays

@lblack that sounds like a great morning! I did some work on The Ultimatum.

Once I get out of the day job, I have to works towards finishing post on my new short film. Exciting times!
