got back to the boss that made me quit hollow knight the first time (the soul master)

they're so damn far from the bench and there's a bunch of little versions of the boss on the way, it is exhausting

i actually managed to beat the darn thing this time tho

@00dani it made me quit hollow knight my first playthrough as well honestly, for the same reasons. That boss drove me insane. At least you *can* go and do a lot of the game without beating that thing. There's also a hidden shortcut but only a tiny one and doesn't dramatically shorten the time to return to the boss.

@sandra i opened up a few shortcuts on the path to the boss, i'm not sure if i found the hidden one or not

i definitely lost a lot of geo just trying to get back to the boss room between attempts? luckily on this playthrough i actually discovered the bank, so things are going better than the first time at least

@00dani the hidden shortcut is that you can break the wall on the elevator on the left leading right to the paywalled bench. It only lets you skip like one enemy though so it's a bit of a lame one.
