In fact, i think, you are just mixing up the functionality of a forum channel (called group in other fedi projects) and privacy groups.

It would be very useful to have this in the git directly. Some interested folks, users, journalists could grasp some basic technical ideas. The more "they know the less questions and the more real acknowledgment of the geniality of the technical underlying solutions the ZOT family implements - and the more evangelists we have that spread the word.
