to exit vim you have to type
:qi said it as a joke but i still remember when i opened vim by accident and was clueless as to what to do
Devin Prater@schappi I did that recently. Then I remembered :q and then I tried :qq or something and it let me go. Finally. Lol :) I can never get used to that editor.
