@deutrino @jgoerzen I deleted FB years ago so I personally haven't seen this, however reports of this started around September 1st. They have most definitely blacklisted joinmastodon.org at some level, and the Algorithms are retroactively and somewhat randomly applying this block to posts containing this domain...some of them weeks to years old.

I think the System doesn't (always) immediately block such posts, both to make the anticompetitive behaviour less obvious and because it is being applied through a scan of historical posts instead of in real time. How quickly posts are blocked may also depend on how widely distributed the post was and how much engagement it is getting.

I wonder if posts to specific fedi instances are getting blocked...like is it just scanning for URLs or scanning the content within as well?
