If you live in #California and haven’t yet voted or made plans to vote on the proposed recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom, please do it now.

This is a situation in which apathy could have serious consequences. California, which isn’t as liberal a state as you may imagine but is nonetheless considerably more liberal than the nation as a whole, may be about to absent-mindedly acquire a Trumpist governor who could never win a normal election. Fill out your ballot and vote no on the recall.

You can send them back in the mail, no postage required. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day, September 14.

You can deposit them at ballot drop boxes located throughout the state. All the drop boxes are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 8PM on Election Day, when teams of elections staff will lock and close them.

Or take them to a polling place between the hours of 7AM and 8 PM on Election Day.
