Depends on what you want. Yubikeys are the most popular but the firmware is proprietary. NitroKeys Start have open-source firmware and should work just fine but they are not tamper-resistant. NitroKeys Pro are tamper-resistant (like Yubikeys) but proprietary (the tamper-resistant elements require NDAs).

It seems one cannot have it and eat it too :(
