I suppose I should figure out what "Gundam" is supposed to mean in Japanese and why it's not actually a swear
but it sounds like a swear, that's the thing
it's what you say when you see a giant space robot and you are very impressed by how large its guns are
<< The Yatate team combined the English word "gun" with the last syllable of the word "freedom" to form the portmanteau Gundom. Tomino changed it to Gundam, suggesting a unit wielding a gun powerful enough to hold back enemies like a hydroelectric dam holding back water.[8] >>

yeah, I'm terribly sorry, but "hydroelectric installation" is, uh, NOT the primary connotation of the syllable "dam" in English, not anymore
MUCH better than "gundom" though.
Language is hard!
So uh what about a Godzilla/Gundam crossover series
called Gunzilla of course
what were you thinking it would be called
keithzg (@[email protected]): “So you're saying that state-of-the-art machinery was created but then immediately and wastefully used not to push humankind forwards or better anyone's lives but rather in needless, destructive com...”
lol very yes
I am enjoying the visual look of the 1981 movie of the 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam though! O'Neill habitats!
