Finally after having my car for 2 years I'm getting the dashcam I moved to two previous cars installed in it!

It was a pretty big hassle to get an appointment as apparently you can't just call your local Halfords any more, you have to contact a useless contact centre who have to slowly work through available fitting appointments, and then send you to a store 30 mins away who don't even know you have an appointment (yes this happened a few weeks ago) - but today's appointment is at the store 5 min from me and was arranged by the lovely person from the store 30 mins away so should be good!

well, that's 0-2 on the "actually having an appointment booked that they assured me I had booked" front, the store had no record that the other store had even contacted them, but they've squeezed me in first thing tomorrow morning, and I got a new rear wiper blade and fitted that myself so at least something useful came of the trip!!
I at least got an email confirming my booking this time! My tip for anyone who needs to get something done at Halfords, go into the store yourself and talk to the people there as they'll actually know when they can fit you in, the contact centre is useless so there's no point trying to phone the number that appears to be local to you!

@wolfie When I bought my current car it had been really well looked after and had all new stuff, new battery, new wiper blades and so on

All was well until I was driving along just outside Huddersfield and thought "I'll try the rear wiper" at which point it promptly fell off and is presumably still somewhere just outside Huddersfield

Luckily they are easy to fit...!

@ak oh no that's no good! yeah it wasn't too hard to do, once I worked out I needed to bend it past the point that seemed like a good idea and the old blade just popped off
@wolfie They're quite easy to remove, you just have to drive down the A640 and turn it on
@ak 😂 ok I definitely need to go and try turning the wiper on before I drive anywhere
@wolfie If something doesn't fall off, have you *really* driven?
