@jonn @edwinb technically it might be better to just hit "detect text from image", coz like, blind ppl might wanna read about compilers too, ykno.
but short alt text is better than no alt text. (unless it's deliberately misleading)

@edwinb @jonn Oh hec. Yeah, it's a mastodon thing. Although before it became a mastodon thing, I just used a script to download the image from the URL on the clipboard, apply OCR, and then copy the result.
But that's a bit more effort.
