@alcinnz @streetlight well regarding that "legal support against GPL violations", #sfconservancy doesn't even respond to reports of violations. Do they only support copyright holders?

Then again our world is much bigger than the Linux kernel, and I don't think they hold all the copyrights there.

Each Linux contributor retains copyright for their own contribution individually. If you want to relicense the kernel you'd have to get permission from each and every one of them or remove the contribution.
some projects require that contributors assign copyright to the project but Linux isn't one of them.
