Plenty of ex-patriots living overseas as they mentioned and they get their pension and VA checks. The issue here would be is would the US Gov't consider the succession to be an act of war? In that case, they could halt payments as an element of the war strategy.

If Texit were permitted without the war, that likely could get into an interesting tax situation that I know nothing about.
