to the one person who has tried joining my minecraft server on my top-secret vps and promptly crashed it: i'm sorry this wasn't your fault
this is a real server, which works, and it works well. just not when it's been left running for 24 hours
the name "mindfwick" was chosen for 3 reasons:
1. it's the name which i randomly made up by modifying the word "minecraft" while naming the server directory
2. as the tagline says, it's hosted on a vps with 512mb of ram
3. we have not one but TWO chunk borders. hell, we have 4-chunk wide empty holes leading riiight to the void

remember that screenshot of overworld chunks in the nether? guess what. that's also from this server

quick rundown of what happened: i took a world download of a world with a chunk border, essentially the middle area was different than everything outside of it. almost like an island on an ocean. however, the world download did not save the seed and instead generated new chunks all around the place which i realized a bit late, hence the 3/4-chunk wide holes. but there's new terrain now so yay

turns out, this was most likely actually some kind of automated spambot, not someone trying to log in
