A great distance across the gulf of the desert, a tiny flash of energy brings a single, dark-haired woman onto the field of battle. This woman stands tall and stern, in opposition to everything this little blue world holds dear.

"And so it begins."

"I wish we had a few more gun and sword arms." She shook her head. "Still. There's hope for a last minute switch hit, as the human idiom goes."

She drew her gun. "Pirates without a ship, and only a future to steal. Best watch yourselves."

Jessica huffs confidently and goes metallic. Looking over at Ridley, she gives the Scotswoman a nod. "You ready, Scotty?"

"Aye," she replies with a wicked grin, igniting herself in violet flames, "Once more unto the breach."

In a coordinated advance, Alterna opens a portal for the two women that brings them right up to Nemesis. Ridley immediately directs a huge stream of fire towards the villain, which glances off an unseen force field around her.

At the same moment, Jessica attempts to force her way through this field, which is successful, only just. Tired from the effort, she staggers, but is able to land a heavy punch to Nemesis's jaw.

The entity chuckles darkly, standing upright again with nary a mark on her face. "You'll have to do better than that," she says with a purr to her voice. [x]

Cid stepped forward, and took an offensive stance.

Cid tilted her head. She raised her eyebrows. "Crank it open, Jarvis. This suit is designed for temporal energy and that should work."
