@lx I'd assume it's the holidays, but yeah - traffic has been so light recently that I've actually started thinking about ways to verify that my instance isn't broken somehow.

@galaxis Maybe it's just my instance but it's as slow as when I left it last time. Clicking on toots takes several seconds to load, etc.

I was more thinking of the number of posts flowing into my timeline...
I have noticed that infosec.exchange is kind of laggy when looking at public threads on that instance too, though.
@galaxis Maybe it's time to move back to my first account on mastodon.xyz, but I originally moved away from there because of these exact performance issues. π€
@lx Hrm, strange. It actually looks okay-ish from the outside currently when clicking around on infosec.exchange.
I think Mastodon takes some time to repopulate the timelines of users that haven't been logged on recently (they're cached in redis), but things should go back to normal from there quickly?
Tried to ask @jerry ? I think he migrated the instance to a different provider to improve performance not too long ago...
