YAK@senzubean I do it because I live with my parents & they make me but that's really the only reason, once I'm out I'm going to stop celebrating it as a holiday
I might keep the gift-giving part of it with my friends because that's a tradition I enjoy, but that doesn't need to be a denominational thing let alone associated with such a hypercapitalist ""holiday""

I think for some it's easier when you have an excuse BC it can be daunting to just give a ptesent out of nowhere, but on the flip side if this holiday didn't exist then maybe gift-giving would be more normalized
