1. Too many people don't get the connection between SOCIAL Security, Medicare, highways, dams, airports, roads, fire departments (things that they like) and the social democracy that it takes to run those programs.

2. The republican party has turned into a cult. Hysteria is the theme and socialism is one of the dog whistle buzzwords.

The amount of farm subsidy payments under trump has almost tripled. That’s money going from blue states to red states, all to support a trade war with China that was based on the faulty premise that China was stealing from us because we were running a huge trade deficit. 

But after 4 years of trump, our trade deficit with China has increased and Midwest farm foreclosures are up to 2008 levels.
