We are called to love everyone, without exception; at the same time, loving an oppressor does not mean allowing him to keep oppressing us, or letting him think that what he does is acceptable. On the contrary, true love for an oppressor means seeking ways to make him cease his oppression; it means stripping him of a power that he does not know how to use, and that diminishes his own humanity and that of others.

I sat on this during prayer request at church. We do a blanket prayer for leaders, so I resolved to leave it at that. I also pray daily for acceptance of God's will so I also feel that is lifted up there. I feel very "God's will" about this situation. This man is problematic but he was never The Problem.
@kavbojka I completely feel that. For me, I think the only way for focusing on Trump and covid to Not become toxic for me is to give it up to God and keep doing the work. You're right, Trump is emblematic of the Problem, but he is just one representation of the kyriarchy.
