Last but not least: the Laach #lake. This caldera lake is the largest lake in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Laacher #volcano last erupted around 10930 BC. Volcanic activity can still be found today in the form of outgassing.
Pictures 6 and 7 show you Olbrück Castle, a #castle ruin.
More than 15 families have owned the castle since it was founded around 1100. It has been destroyed several times and repeatedly rebuilt - at least in part. This Höhenburg with its diamond-shaped ground plan is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the Eifel region. It has been a listed building since 24 June 1980 and is the largest visible landmark in the Brohl Valley.
Thanks for following my #SundayOut. Hope you had a good time, too :-)
