The world doesn’t need reimplementations of heavily used tools in new languages.

Rust is like the Ralph Nader of programming languages. The Ross Perot. It just steals resources from projects that are otherwise doing fine.

What Git *does* need is a UI/UX overhaul. It’s way more complex currently than almost anyone needs. A good example of this effort is Game of Trees.
