meredethokay well, it's only the barest of exaggerations to say that everybody really does die, and I definitely recommend watching this with an ENTIRE box of tissues, but #JapanSinks2020 is good. and really made me wanna read the books.
I assume that the Netflix version took some liberties, since it includes a YouTuber and lots of cell phone/GPS stuff, but assuming they kept the general outline and heart-wrenching body count, the books should be pretty darn good.
