How can it be, 6 months after America’s first case was reported, that the U.S. still doesn’t have a COVID-19 response?

How has wearing a mask, a simple, effective way to slow the spread, turned into a political wedge issue?

The answer to both questions is the same: a Republican Party that has zero interest in effective governing and is concerned solely with maintaining power and profiteering.
