i seriously think i could train him in search and rescue. he is so smart. already learning to fetch after 2 days of practice. either that or as a therapy cat, because he's the sweetest kitten i have ever had.

@queenoftheleft What a strange, interesting face. Amazing eyes.

I've always thought that cats were natural-born "therapy" or "emotional support" animals.

@flugennock many can be. i think he's a great candidate. we are already taking him for rides to try to get him comfy with car trips, and with wearing a leash. took him to father-in-law's and i think the visit helped the old fella. he loves cats.

@queenoftheleft A leash? A cat? Get outta here.

I remember some years back, the DW and I putting the late, great Comrade Gorbachev The Amazing Soviet Social Reformist Wonder Kitty on a leash. He was OK with it, but he wouldn't "walk". He'd go a few feet, find a nice sunny spot on the sidewalk, and just plop down and refuse to go any further. He was strictly a house cat, as is Minnie.

@queenoftheleft They do seem to be naturals at it. When I'm in the easy chair, Minnie climbs up into my lap, curls up and just start purring away the moment I touch her, which makes me feel much more peaceful... and "protected" somehow, strangely.
